A Permanent Technique for Hair Removal

A Permanent Technique for Hair Removal

Are you looking for a more permanent solution for removal of unwanted hair? You must be happy after knowing that laser hair removal will solve your problem as it is a permanent technique. Hair removal lasers have been in use since 1997 and the Food and Drug Administration approved it for “permanent hair reduction.” Laser hair removal has become extremely popular because of its speed and efficacy, although some of the efficacy is dependent upon the skill and experience of the laser operator, and the choice and availability of different laser technology at the clinic which is performing the procedure.

Laser hair removal has proven to be a very popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure. It is a non-invasive, convenient way to permanently reduce unwanted facial or body hair. There is no technology available for permanent hair removal. Laser is attracted to dark pigment and therefore works best with dark coarse hair. Light skin and dark hair are an ideal combination, but new lasers are now able to target dark black hair even in patients with dark skin.

The lasers on the market today come in all shapes and sizes. Different lasers use different wavelengths of light; some utilize a cooling device and some do not. All laser systems emit a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle where it is absorbed by the hair. The laser energy is then transformed into heat which disables the follicle. Today, individuals with white or dark/tan skin can utilize lasers to remove their unwanted hair with positive results. Lasers that utilize a cooling device will help provide the patient with increased comfort and protection by cooling the upper layers of skin. This cooling selectivity helps to protect the skin while effectively treating the unwanted hair.

Laser therapy is the safest and fastest, amongst all the methods of permanent hair reduction. Laser means Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation that produces an intense beam of light of a particular wavelength. The laser gets absorbed in the melanin of hair follicles (the growth center of hair); increases the temperature to destroy the follicle cells permanently. Each laser pulse treats an area about one centimeter in diameter, which may contain around ten hairs, rendering them ineffective, thus preventing future hair growth. the feel of the laser on the skin has been described in many different ways. Some say it feels like a pinch on the skin and others say it feels cool or it feels like a mild rubber band snap. For those who feel discomfort, most clinics do provide mild anesthetics.

Laser hair removal is effective only on short, visible hair. Two to three days before the procedure, you shave the area to be treated, and allow it to grow to stubble. Avoid waxing or plucking the hair and electrolysis three weeks before treatment. The effectiveness of laser hair removal depends on the characteristics of the individual. Skin type, hair type and pigment are all factors that can determine the outcome for a person. Our guests come to us with a wide array of skin types, hair types and hair problems, but the commonality is their desire for permanent removal. Based on these individual factors, it is our job to determine the best choice of laser and best treatment plan that will produce the most desirable results.

  1. it all depends on the area. i get my brazilian, chin, and lip done and it’s costing me about $4000.

  2. OMG is her hair real? i love it. she’s hot…the one getting zapped hehehe

  3. i want it done so bad on my underarms…i get so sick of removing it every other day

  4. how much does laser hair removal cost

  5. Laser is the best "permanent" option for any area larger than a dime or for treatment of more than 10 hairs. The best system is dependent on your skin type and the color and thickness of your hair. Alexandrite's and Diodes work pest for lighter skin with darker hair and Yag's work best for dark skin/dark hairs and for lighter hairs. You can get very good results from all 3 if the laser operator is knowledgeable on what they are doing.

  6. No hair removal is perminant. Electrolysis and laser removal was thought to be but it is clear now that is isn't alhough it does last a long time. They work by damaging the hair root so that hair can't grow. Results vary and some people go years without hair, others don't have so long before it grows back. It's expensive and has to be done by professionals. It takes numerous sessions and can damage skin if not done properly.

Waxing and epiliation also work by damaging the root which can result in a less hair growth. These aren't so expensive and cna be done at home. As a guide though I've epilated for almost two decades. Although I have less hair now than I used to I'm still far from hairless.

  7. Permanent hair removal should be done by a professional. Any home kit cannot promise you permanent removal.
There are two home options that will gradually decrease hair growth:
    1. Waxing – It is way easier to visit a pro for this, but it's totally possible to do on your own. Visit a beauty supply store that sells to the public for the equipment. GiGi supplies work best in my opinion. Waxing pulls hair by the bulb. Once the bulb is pulled out hair will not grow back. But, you don't always get the bulbs pulled out, so it may take years before the area is completely hairless, if ever.
    2. Depilatories – Nair or Veet-like products. Not good for everyone, it burns my skin. The coarser the hair, the longer it has to stay on, and the higher the risk for burns. Depilatories turn the hair into a jelly-like mass and then it is wiped away. Again, it may take years to rid completely of the hair, if ever.

Professional methods include electrolysis and laser removal. Both might take a few visits and the place you choose for your services should have a good reputation. They are costly, but get the job done.

  8. Laser is the only permanent method but it is pricey…probably around $800.

But go with epilating – its like waxing with a hand held machine – it pulls out the hairs like tweezers and you can do it yourself as often as you like..

You can buy them at department stores or shaver shops – eventually the hair stops growing if you keep epilating :)

  9. It probably could work, but you might end up doing more damage than you asked for. Personally, I think you'd be better off using laser treatment…it really isn't as costly as you make out:

    "Laser hair removal general prices

Whole of the face Costs – $150-300
The Upper lip Costs – $50-150
    A Chin Costs – $50-150
The Underarms (both) Costs – $50-150
Half legs (both) Costs – $200-400
    Half arms (both)Costs – $200-400
    The Buttocks Costs – $150-300
    Back Costs – $200-500
The Chest Costs – $100-300 (ask for definition)
The abdomen Costs – $100-300 (ask for definition) "

    I got that from: http://www.insightempire.com/Laserhairremovalcost/

Considering the results are permanent, I think, for the price it's worth it.

  10. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

  11. When getting hair removal make sure you dont sunbath/tan bed just before…wait 72hrs. also it doesnt work on true blonde hair or white hair…it needs the darker color to attract the laser. in our spa most can be taken care of in 4 to 6 treatments…but we continue to treat until it is removed…without further cost to you. as far as cost goes….chin is about 300.00 total cost….whole legs about 1300.00 total cost bikini with underarm about 700.00 total cost. it should not cause any real pain…you do feel the zap of the hair which is uncomfortable ….but if it is causing real pain then you should stop the treatment….wait a few days and make sure you dont blister….if you do you need to talk with the doctor or find another one.
